Google Plus – A New Social Networking Player

All of us were getting the rumors from famous tech websites that Google is busy in building social networking platform to answer the facebook. Some of them called as Google Me but Google denied all such news. Now, Google raised the curtain from his newly born social networking baby Google Plus. Google Plus have been developed in complete secrecy and with hard work of more than one year.

Google called it Google Plus Project not Google Plus and in ending paragraph of official blog post they said:

That’s the Google+ project so far: Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and mobile.We’re beginning in Field Trial, so you may find some rough edges, and the project is by invitation only. But online sharing needs a serious re-think, so it’s time we got started. There’s just one more thing—really the only thing: You.

So far, Google + project is:  Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and mobile. So we might se more enhancement to this social networking by G. Also Google + is available in field trial and by invitation only, which is already closed. Now let’s explore what are Google + Project Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and mobile.

Circles

Google Circle allows to create circle/grouping of people based on the type of connection/relation e.g friends, colleagues, etc. The purpose is very clear from Google + team that most of the social networking sites, including facebook lack this feature to sort the news stream and sharing based on the type of relation. In Google Circles you can create the circles based on the type of relation, which makes it easy to share the things with social circle or friend you like. Furthermore, Google Circle will make the news stream bifurcated in these circles. So you do not need to see the news feed from all the friends rather you can select the circle to see the news feed.To understand the circle more watch the videos below.

Sparks

Sparks is like Google alert. With Spark one can create the alert for its interest. Like if you like digital photography you can  create the spark for the same in Google+, and you will start getting the feeds of all the latest stuff (blog post, news, pictures, videos, etc.) related to digital photography across the internet. Obviously, the feature will be powered by Google Search Engine. The idea behind is to provide a search engine for sharing so you need not to search the things then copy the links and share with your connections.

Hangouts

Hangout will provide the opportunity to join the face to face video streaming conversation. The news will be published in the feed about the hangout so that other in the circle can also join this hangout. So it will be a group video chat to create hangouts as we have in our real life. According to Google Plus, the purpose of creating hangout is creating a non schedule face to face conversation for the people. You can even share any content in hangout to have the discussion on it.

Mobile

Google Plus mobile functionality added  mobile features of adding the place to every post and upload of the photos to a private cloud so that you can share it whenever you want. Then another features is +Huddle in Google+ Mobile. Huddle gives you an opportunity to have a real time combine chat or discussion of friends. Like you want to decide where to go for dinner you can have the real time group discussion to finalize it.

Google Plus at the introduction tries to convince that the other social networking player does not provide the social networking at real sense and creates privacy issues. But, after the full roll out, we might be able to asses that whether Google succeeded in its effort to create a web application/software that can provide the social interaction much closer to real life.

After the launch, there is also buzz about whether Google would be able to get the users from facebook? Time will decide this but no doubt the Google Plus look is nearly like facebook. Same left bar holding the friends & other information, the middle portion for news feed, at top the filed is located for posting and the right bar you will get suggestions or might get Google Adsense in the future for generating revenue.

Google Plus came along with some redesign and makeover in Google home page also which most people have started experiencing. A new tab (you+) will be added to new black top bar which is now visible  on Google HomePage ,Google tools and products so that you remain in touch with new notifications in Google Plus all the time.
